Having trained as an Architect at the University of Bristol in England,  Kevin started working in the Art Department, as a Draughtsman, on “Return of the Jedi”.

Quickly rising through the ranks, he became an integral part of the creative teams for some of the most visually exciting films of  cinema history.  A superb Draughtsman,  with an enormous knowledge of Art and Architecture, coupled with an assured technical foundation, has meant that he has excelled in all capacities of the Art Department.

Kevin has worked with  Ridley Scott (1492-Conquest of Paradise), Tony Scott (Spy Game), David Lynch (Dune), Luc Besson (The Fifth Element), Wolfgang Petersen (Troy), Oliver Stone (Alexander), Stanley Kubrick (Eyes Wide Shut), The Wachowski's (V for Vendetta), Andrei Konchalovsky (Nutcracker), Paul W.S Anderson  (Resident Evil:Retribution), amongst many other influential directors.

His association with Tim Burton began on “Batman” and has continued through to “Sleepy Hollow”, “Planet of the Apes” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”.

Kevin has travelled and worked extensively throughout the world, including Brazil, Canada, China, Costa Rica, Crimea, Croatia, Finland, Germany, Hongkong, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Malta, Mexico, Morocco, Peru, Romania, Serbia, South Africa, Spain, Thailand, The Czech Republic, Turkey and Ukraine.

He has built sets in every country, more often than not utilising local talents, skills and materials, to maximise production value.

He was one of the first Art directors to embrace digital design techniques and to integrate computer aided design into the Art Department, whilst maintaining the best of the traditional approach.

His career has bridged both digital visual effects and in-camera, miniature, and optical effects. He has a particular interest in the integration of digital technology with traditional film making techniques. His philosophy is always to use the most visual and cost-effective technique available, in order to achieve the “Look” for the production. The balance between physical and digital sets , creatively, financially  and logistically will always require a careful and educated choice.

His knowledge of visual effect techniques is outstanding.

Kevin was nominated for an EMMY for his work on the highly acclaimed HBO series of “Band of Brothers”. He won an award from the American Art Directors Guild for his work on “Sleepy Hollow” and has won nominations for his work on “V for Vendetta” and “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.”
